Our passion is to love the Lord our God and to love people, the two greatest commandments.

 

Our mission, as we demonstrate our love practically, is to carry out the Great Commission. What is that? It is our goal as a church:

 

• To invite people, across the street and around the world, to a personal, eternal relationship with Jesus Christ

• To include believers by baptism into the Lord’s church

• To instruct, encourage and minister to believers in this body of Christ in their growth in grace.

 

Our reliance and confidence rest in the power of God’s Word and presence of His Spirit. Anything of any consequence that is accomplished is done by getting the living Word into people’s lives—from our youngest classes to our corporate worship to our never ending activities and events—and allowing God’s Spirit to do His work within us. When that happens, the possibilities are limitless.

What to Expect

 

Sunshine Baptist Church is not a social club or civic organization, though we do enjoy fellowship and serve our community. We are more... a church of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are a redeemed people, bought with a price, and consequently called to live not for our purposes and ambitions, but for our Lord. SBC has an earthly mission and an eternal purpose. The privileges we enjoy are many: worship and praise, discipleship, growth, fellowship, prayer, encouragement… the reality of a living, loving God working through His people. It is truly wonderful.

 

Covenanted together to carry out the commands of Christ, we also are called to take up our cross and follow Him. Casual Christianity is not a New Testament reality. The standards of service and commitment are not ours to lower or make easy; rather, we admonish our church members to take their service seriously. We remind our membership that God expects us to be personal in devotion; faithful in attendance; consistent and sacrificial in giving; exemplary in service; dedicated in our witness; and loving in everything we do.

 

We don’t burden people with rules and regulations. When we focus on Him, and learn of Him, His yoke is easy and His burden light. Commitment and faithfulness are essential building blocks of experiencing all that God has for us.

 

How to Join

 

We gladly welcome those whom God leads to join our church family. During the invitation in any worship service,those who are led by the Lord may join SBC...

 

• By profession of faith in Jesus as Savior and water baptism

• By letter from another Baptist Church

• By baptism if joining from a different denomination

• By statement of previous profession of faith and baptism by a Baptist Church where a letter is not possible
